Would you like to perform at Simmer Down Festival 2015?
If so, Simmer Down CIC has issuing a call for submissions, seeking new productions and performances for the free family fun festival. They are interested in hearing from artists who would like to submit a proposal for consideration to take part in their festival. The festival will take place in Handsworth Park, Birmingham on Sunday 19 July. 12noon until 7pm.
Simmer Down is a free family music and arts festival that celebrates Birmingham’s rich cultural diversity. The festival’s intercultural programme features internationally acclaimed artists alongside the very best in home grown talent. The programme features music, dance, spoken word, visual arts, commissioned work, outreach and young people’s programme, workshops and participation activities for all the family.
This unique partnership between city’s leading arts organisations and community groups, schools, colleges and local businesses has successfully achieved ‘hard to reach’ audiences with attendance growing from 2,000 to 15,000 over 5 years and contributed to Birmingham as an international city of culture.
All submissions/proposals need to be received by 5pm, Thursday 9 June and must include the following supporting information (if they information is not included your submissions/proposals will not be considered) :
- Name, contact details of company or artist(s)
- Biographic details of artist(s) and company
- Synopsis of the piece / gig /proposal
- Running Time/ Tech Spec
- Press clippings of previous shows/events (if available), plus any additional supporting information
- Any product, CD’s, books, tapes, web links etc
- How will Simmer Down help your career/ How will you help Simmer Down?
